This wall-mounted light was designed around the theme of tension, made as part of my A-Level 3D Design coursework. The design features two interchangeable shades, an adjustable arm to change the angle of the light, and an integrated COB LED strip. The two shades let the user switch between diffused ambient lighting and more directional task lighting. COB strips were chosen over SMD strips for their better diffusion quality.
Development involved extensive model-making, with 3D printing and laser cutting as the main methods of rapid prototyping. The final product combines wood, acrylic, and metal.
